Our Wedding

I'm&nbsp;sure&nbsp;you've&nbsp;heard&nbsp;that&nbsp;some&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;best&nbsp;long-term&nbsp;romantic&nbsp;relationships&nbsp;began&nbsp;as&nbsp;genuine&nbsp;friendships.&nbsp;That&nbsp;is&nbsp;exactly&nbsp;how&nbsp;our&nbsp;story&nbsp;began!&nbsp;We&nbsp;met&nbsp;on&nbsp;the&nbsp;campus&nbsp;of&nbsp;UCLA&nbsp;while&nbsp;both&nbsp;working&nbsp;at&nbsp;the&nbsp;Arthur&nbsp;Ashe&nbsp;Student&nbsp;Health&nbsp;Center&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;fall&nbsp;of&nbsp;2016.&nbsp;While&nbsp;our&nbsp;initial&nbsp;relationship&nbsp;dynamic&nbsp;was&nbsp;strictly&nbsp;as&nbsp;co-workers,&nbsp;our&nbsp;friendship&nbsp;began&nbsp;to&nbsp;develop&nbsp;over&nbsp;our&nbsp;mutual&nbsp;love&nbsp;for&nbsp;fast&nbsp;cars,&nbsp;loud&nbsp;boats,&nbsp;cool&nbsp;motorcycles&nbsp;and&nbsp;childhood&nbsp;memories&nbsp;of&nbsp;waterskiing&nbsp;on&nbsp;the&nbsp;Colorado&nbsp;River. Our&nbsp;first&nbsp;social&nbsp;interaction&nbsp;outside&nbsp;the&nbsp;confines&nbsp;of&nbsp;our&nbsp;workplace&nbsp;happened&nbsp;when&nbsp;Val's&nbsp;car&nbsp;was&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;shop&nbsp;and&nbsp;she&nbsp;deftly&nbsp;maneuvered&nbsp;through&nbsp;the&nbsp;rental&nbsp;car&nbsp;lot&nbsp;until&nbsp;finding&nbsp;the&nbsp;perfect&nbsp;Dodge&nbsp;Challenger&nbsp;with&nbsp;a&nbsp;HEMI&nbsp;V8&nbsp;engine&nbsp;because&nbsp;she&nbsp;wanted&nbsp;to&nbsp;find,&nbsp;"something&nbsp;fun&nbsp;to&nbsp;drive"&nbsp;for&nbsp;the&nbsp;week.&nbsp;She&nbsp;texted&nbsp;me&nbsp;to&nbsp;share&nbsp;her&nbsp;new&nbsp;toy&nbsp;for&nbsp;the&nbsp;week&nbsp;and&nbsp;I&nbsp;invited&nbsp;myself&nbsp;to&nbsp;join&nbsp;her&nbsp;for&nbsp;a&nbsp;nighttime&nbsp;cruise&nbsp;all&nbsp;around&nbsp;Los&nbsp;Angeles&nbsp;trying&nbsp;to&nbsp;find&nbsp;every&nbsp;bridge,&nbsp;tunnel&nbsp;and&nbsp;underpass&nbsp;possible&nbsp;to&nbsp;listen&nbsp;to&nbsp;the&nbsp;throaty&nbsp;rumble&nbsp;of&nbsp;a&nbsp;big,&nbsp;badass&nbsp;American&nbsp;V8&nbsp;echoing&nbsp;off&nbsp;the&nbsp;walls&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;Southern&nbsp;California&nbsp;concrete&nbsp;jungle. Our&nbsp;friendship&nbsp;evolved&nbsp;on&nbsp;the&nbsp;evening&nbsp;of&nbsp;October&nbsp;11th,&nbsp;2019,&nbsp;exactly&nbsp;six&nbsp;years&nbsp;to&nbsp;the&nbsp;day&nbsp;from&nbsp;our&nbsp;upcoming&nbsp;wedding&nbsp;date.&nbsp;What&nbsp;began&nbsp;as&nbsp;an&nbsp;evening&nbsp;cruise&nbsp;along&nbsp;Pacific&nbsp;Coast&nbsp;Highway&nbsp;up&nbsp;through&nbsp;Malibu,&nbsp;turned&nbsp;into&nbsp;an&nbsp;intimate&nbsp;and&nbsp;vulnerable&nbsp;dinner&nbsp;and&nbsp;ended&nbsp;up&nbsp;with&nbsp;a&nbsp;romantic&nbsp;stroll&nbsp;on&nbsp;the&nbsp;beach.&nbsp;We&nbsp;were&nbsp;both&nbsp;quite&nbsp;smitten&nbsp;with&nbsp;each&nbsp;other&nbsp;from&nbsp;that&nbsp;point&nbsp;on. Our&nbsp;story&nbsp;evolved&nbsp;over&nbsp;the&nbsp;next&nbsp;few&nbsp;years&nbsp;as&nbsp;we&nbsp;both&nbsp;ended&nbsp;our&nbsp;respective&nbsp;employment&nbsp;at&nbsp;the&nbsp;UCLA&nbsp;campus&nbsp;in&nbsp;Westwood&nbsp;to&nbsp;relocate&nbsp;to&nbsp;our&nbsp;new&nbsp;home&nbsp;about&nbsp;an&nbsp;hour&nbsp;north&nbsp;in&nbsp;beautiful&nbsp;Ventura,&nbsp;CA&nbsp;in&nbsp;October&nbsp;2021.&nbsp;We&nbsp;have&nbsp;reveled&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;much&nbsp;more&nbsp;relaxed&nbsp;pace&nbsp;of&nbsp;life&nbsp;outside&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;big&nbsp;city&nbsp;hustle&nbsp;of&nbsp;Los&nbsp;Angeles.&nbsp;This&nbsp;little&nbsp;beachside&nbsp;town&nbsp;has&nbsp;felt&nbsp;like&nbsp;a&nbsp;vacation&nbsp;destination&nbsp;that&nbsp;we&nbsp;somehow&nbsp;get&nbsp;to&nbsp;return&nbsp;home&nbsp;to&nbsp;every&nbsp;night. We&nbsp;are&nbsp;pleased&nbsp;to&nbsp;invite&nbsp;you&nbsp;to&nbsp;our&nbsp;beautiful&nbsp;beach&nbsp;town&nbsp;to&nbsp;witness&nbsp;us&nbsp;embark&nbsp;on&nbsp;our&nbsp;new&nbsp;chapter&nbsp;as&nbsp;husband&nbsp;and&nbsp;wife&nbsp;and&nbsp;celebrate&nbsp;the&nbsp;occasion&nbsp;with&nbsp;you&nbsp;and&nbsp;our&nbsp;most&nbsp;beloved&nbsp;family&nbsp;and&nbsp;friends.
